Terms and Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS   You = Lead Guest, Us = Bank House Farm Hostel, or "BHFH"

By placing a booking at BHFH you and your booking party (guests) agree to the following terms and conditions as set out. During your stay you agree to abide by the subsequent conditions as set out. If you have any questions about booking with us, please contact us before making a booking.

To place a booking with us the lead guest must be at least 21 years of age. The maximum number of staying guests in the dorm is 10 unless prior agreement with BHFH about additional guest(s) is agreed. Where the person making the booking is different from the lead guests taking up the occupation, the person making the booking may be held responsible for cancellation, non-arrival and damages as set out below. Only the lead guest and the the named booking party are allowed to use the property and its facilities; any third-party visitors are only allowed access at our express permission.

To secure any booking we require a deposit to be paid in advance. The booking is provisional until deposit payments are received by BHFH and must be 'cleared funds' before a booking can be confirmed. Deposits are only refundable under the conditions set out here within.

Payments can be made online (from September 2020) or by digital bank transfer. Any charges raised against us by our banks handling dishonoured bank transfers or any other payments, must be reimbursed by the lead guest within seven (7) days of any request to do so.

All guests agree to respect the privacy and peace of all other staying guests, neighbours and the owners at all times. We reserve the right to cancel a booking with immediate effect if guests are not honouring this agreement or causing a disturbance / nuisance to other guests, neighbours or the owners.

CHECK-IN no earlier than 5 pm on the day of arrival & CHECK-OUT no later than 10 am on the date of departure

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations must be notified to and received by us in writing, preferably by email, and once received we will confirm and process your cancellation request.

From September 2020 we will be protected by "MasterCancel" which gives you confidence to book with us. You can cancel your Booking and obtain a full refund of the lodging costs you have paid for up to and including two (2) days before the Holiday Commencement Date. For example, if your Holiday Commencement Date is a Friday, then you can cancel as late as the prior Wednesday, but not Thursday (one (1) day prior) or Friday (the Holiday Commencement Date). However, we ask that you give us as much notice as possible about your cancellation to allow us the opportunity to re-book the dates. If you cancel LATER THAN TWO (2) DAYS  before the Holiday Commencement Date then we cannot refund your Booking as we are no longer covered by "MasterCancel" and we will have incurred costs and are unlikely to be able to re-let our accommodation.

For this reason, we strongly recommend you take out your own travel insurance for UK holidays which covers booking cancellations. This will give you the peace of mind that you will get your money back if you need to cancel your holiday at almost the last minute. If you choose not to then you accept responsibility for any loss that you may incur due to your cancellation.

DAMAGES & LOST PROPERTY. We reserve the right to charge the lead guest for any damages caused through the course of a booking by any member of the booking party. This includes breakages, spillages, stains, damage to furniture or fixtures and fittings. Any accidental damages should be reported as soon as possible to minimise damage and associated costs. Lost keys will incur a replacement charge per key lost. Any lost Property, if discovered and found, left  behind by guests during a stay will be held for a period of 1 month. While we will make our best efforts to reunite lost property with its owners, we accept no responsibility in replacing lost items and encourage guests to ensure they have all their belongings before checking out.
